Montenegro Beach Resort Hotel is a facility that was built in accordance with low-energy standards and has excellent insulation. It is planned that by the spring of 2025, all accommodation units to be completely renovated in accordance with all standards for saving electricity and water consumption.
Accommodation facilities are characterized by systematic filtering and air exchange, which ensures good air quality.
Production of sustainable energy
Located in a green environment, facing the direction of natural winds, in the Montenegro Beach Resort Hotel, natural ventilation is enabled, which affects the temperature reduction.
Heating
The windows and doors of the building are designed to catch the land and sea breezes and use cross ventilation through the building, while the thick insulated concrete walls make the interior cooler or warmer depending on the season.
Energy
Despite the significantly higher occupancy rate, energy consumption has been stabilized to a considerable extent in recent years, and efforts are being made to improve it by installing thermal break technology on balcony doors in all accommodation units.
The hotel uses state-of-the-art heat pumps manufactured by Wiesman, Germany, for heating sanitary water, which have a ratio of 1-4 times the utilization of electricity compared to thermal energy.
Also, the latest VRV systems from the manufacturers Daikin and Hitachi are used for air conditioning and heating of the hotel, which work with frequency compressors up to 990hz and therefore save electricity because they work as needed from 1-990hz.
Bio-waste
Grease filter materials are collected and sent to fossil fuel generating facilities, which reduces trips and optimizes loads.
Sustainable transport
Guests are offered an alternative e-transfer during their stay at the hotel, and CO2 emissions from private cars are reduced. On the map of chargers for electric vehicles at the level of Montenegro, the charger located in the vicinity of the hotel is highlighted.
Washing bed linen
Bed linen and towels from the hotel are washed in the central laundry room at the Splendid Conference & Spa resort hotel, with products that use certified eco-lab chemicals and with the help of devices with low steam consumption.
Waste management
Waste separation is the rule at the Montenegro Beach Resort Hotel. Bio-waste is directed to an asylum for neglected animals and to local farms. Food is bought locally in reusable containers to keep waste to a minimum.
The use of plastic is reduced or excluded from use – for example, replacing plastic straws with straws made of recyclable materials, take-out boxes and similar. Packaging containing dangerous chemicals is stored in a controlled manner and handed over to specialized companies. Waste raw materials are handed over to companies for recycling and reuse. Certainly, the use of single-use plastic water bottles has been reduced to a minimum in the rooms and apartments.

ACTIONS ALREADY BEING IMPLEMENTED AT HOTEL MONTENEGRO IN 2024
- Plastic packaging, glass and cardboard are recycled and food waste is processed to control the total amount of waste. Bio-waste is handed over to the Animal Shelter in Petrovac and to private farms in the Budva Municipality.
- The "Return and Earn" principle has been introduced by our suppliers for a certain amount of transport packaging.
- The process of reducing the use of plastic is on-going – drinking straws, stirrers, disposable cups, takeaway food boxes, etc., the Hotel promotes the use of water from the tap, which is regularly checked to confirm its quality, in order to avoid the consumption of plastic or glass packaging
- Dispensers (in part of the rooms) and biodegradable contents in the rooms, such as toilet sets and sewing sets are implemented in all guest rooms
- We protect indigenous plant species and constantly work to increase their use
- We maintain biodiversity by building a house for insects and a house for cats.
- Motion detectors are installed in the public areas toilets, while the use of light was reduced in the corridors of the accommodation blocks. The same principle was used in the premises for employees, which will affect the consumption of electricity
- Light bulbs with low electricity consumption have been installed at the Hotel level, in as many as 75% of positions, which will also affect the consumption of electricity.

WHAT WE PLAN TO DO BETTER IN 2024
Montenegro Beach Resort Hotel will work closely with Green Key, NGO “Zeleni talas”, Public utility companies “Čistoća” Podgorica, “Matej” Cetinje, “M5Company” Danilovgrad, “Eko Modus” Budva, “Recycling Centre” Nikšić and “3D Soba” in order to raise community
awareness about reduction, reuse and recycling. Our goal is to increase the implementation of green initiatives and select goods by applying life cycle assessment in the framework of green procurement.
ENERGY AND WATER SAVING / with an established enchmarking methodology, our goal is to reduce energy and water consumption.
- Action is being taken to reduce carbon footprints per occupied room compared to global industry results: 797.77 tCO2e per year and 17.63kgCO2e/occ per room (According to the HCMI Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative, a very low score is between 7.5 and 45.58).
- The introduction of the “Save the Planet” policy (reuse of towels and change of bed linen at the guest's request) will show significant savings in the consumption of electricity, water and detergents for textiles.
- Work instructions are available through training to all departments on how to manage waste.

OUR SPECIFIC ACTIONS FOR 2025.
- Changes to the air conditioning units in the accommodation area and restaurants, in order to obtain more efficient heating and cooling of this area with the existing equipment.
- Regular updating of sustainability actions according to media, social networks and other available channels.
- Light detectors will be installed in other public areas through the investment plan for 2025. A key card power switch will be installed in all rooms, which will enable control of electricity consumption
